I have applied to the Child’s Play Challenge Blog as a member of their design team! This is a wonderful challenge site, and you don’t have to have young children to play! So far, this month’s challenges have been:
- Classic Toy Challenge: Tire Swing
- Movie Challenge: Willy Wonka
The other two challenges are TBA, so check on over there later this month to play along!
I chose to enter my design team layout on the movie of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love dark chocolate. When I was working, I always had some dark chocolate on my desk or hidden in a drawer. I can have just one or two small pieces of chocolate a day and be just fine. And yes, there are some days I don’t have any. But I know it’s there.
I chose not to use any pictures on this layout, but instead some of the boxes and box wrappers that I received from friends when I retired.
I’ve also recently decided that I need to get out of my rut and use some different coloring tools. At CKC last year I played with some Faber Castell Gelatos, and although I wasn’t too sure of them at the time, I checked out their blog and got really interested. Of course, after this, I had to use my Michael’s coupon and get a kit! My daughter had also been talking about the Ranger Industries Alcohol Inks and Distress Stains. So, armed with more coupons, I bought some of these, too. I wanted to use some more items that I haven’t before, so dug through my stash and came up with some burlap and Heidi Swapp Color Magic arrows. I also found a Tim Hotlz Idea-ology quote that goes perfect with my Willy Wonka theme, “Possibility begins with imagination.” I love the song Willy Wonka sings when the tour of the chocolate factory begins, “Pure Imagination.”
I hope you enjoy my layout as much as I enjoyed making it!
I hope to see you over at Child’s Play Challenge!
The journaling reads: Everyone at the WSP knows of my love for dark chocolate. When I retired, Captain Sass gave me two boxes of Godiva dark chocolate. Our maintenance mechanic, Eugene, gave me some of my favorite dark chocolate from the Ukraine.
